News...News...News...News...News

.: NEWS UPDATE - 15th MAR 2008 :. Um, yeah, ok... So updates have been severely lacking for (yikes!) some three years now...!!! A quick catch-up is in order methinks... Ok, so, in brief, Snub was coaxed out of retirement to do the occasional special "one-off" show - supporting DOWNSET in Feb 2005 and SICK OF IT ALL in June 2007, with a couple of other dates in-between - but we've now decided officially to re-form, based purely on the amount of interest and support that the band continues to receive and the fact that we love doing what we do! The current-day line-up features all former members of the band, including myself on bass (the only remaining founding member) along with the legend that is Choff on vocals, Luke Duffield on drums and Si Smith & Martyn Aslett on guitars. We've started writing new material and have two cracking new songs completed so far - 'It Will Consume You' and 'Night Of The Locust' - which will be performed for the first time ever at tonight's show at Metropole on Holdenhurst Road in Bournemouth (not Mr C's, which is temporarily out of action, or The Gander as both previously advertised). The Metropole is actually directly below The Gander (it's part of the same venue), so if you'd planned to go to the latter you'll end up in the right place anyway! Myself and the rest of the guys would just like to say a massive thank you to all our fans for the, as always, truly incredible support and loyalty that you continue to show us - we really are very privileged to have you behind us and to still be doing this after so many years!! Hopefully we'll see some of you at the show tonight! Respect - Martin (Jeffery).

.: NEWS UPDATE - 3rd FEB 2005 :. IMPORTANT: Tickets for the DOWNSET show are now pretty much sold out and are no longer available at either Paradox or YDNA. We have literally only a handful left but these have all been reserved! Please DO NOT travel to the show unless you either have a ticket or have one reserved - Mr Smiths is a 100 capacity venue and we have reached that capacity. WE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO LET ANYONE ELSE IN!!! For those of you that managed to get tickets - well done and we'll see you at the show! :o)

.: NEWS UPDATE - 18TH JAN 2005 :. Two quick announcements for you... Firstly, there's a been a lot of speculation recently about whether or not Mr Smiths will only admit ages 18+ but we can 100% confirm that in fact ages 16+ are allowed entry. Secondly, for anyone in the Southampton area, tickets for the DOWNSET show can be purchased from Choff - he works at Silverscreen, which is in the West Quay shopping centre.

.: NEWS UPDATE - 10TH JAN 2005 :. We can hardly believe it ourselves, but Choff and I have been given the opportunity of putting on the legendary DOWNSET when they tour Europe this February!

Anyone who knows a little about the history of SNUB will appreciate that DOWNSET was our main influence/inspiration in the early days, so naturally we've jumped at the chance of putting on this show - especially as it means that our new band, YOU'VE BEEN LIED TO, will get to share the stage with them!

(YOU'VE BEEN LIED TO is the new project arising out of the ashes of SNUB. Initially called ELIAS, the band was forced to change its name for legal reasons, but also features a new line-up (now a five-piece) and completely new songs and is not the band that those of you attending SNUB's farewell show would have seen! Anyone that witnessed our debut appearance (under the new name), supporting SKINDRED in December, will know that we're far more brutal than SNUB ever was - and Choff and I really do feel that we've finally found our spiritual "home" musically!)

DOWNSET will be accompanied by (HAWINO RECORDS) labelmates DEMEAN, plus Germany's MAROON, who have been generating quite a reputation for themselves over the last couple of years. The show will be hosted at MR SMITHS in BOURNEMOUTH on TUESDAY 8TH FEB - doors at 7pm, first band on at 7:30pm. This will almost certainly be the most intimate date of the entire tour - an extremely rare opportunity to see the bands up-close-and-personal!

Don't miss out...

We have a strictly limited run of 100 tickets available to purchase in advance of the show. These are priced at £7 each and are available from any of the members of YOU'VE BEEN LIED TO, MANMADE RECORDS street-teamers and are also available at PARADOX and YDNA in Bournemouth. For any of you not local to Bournemouth, tickets can also be purchased for the same price by sending a cheque made out to MARTIN JEFFERY for the required amount (email me for an address), or by PayPal via the MANMADE RECORDS website priced £7.50 (includes 50p handling fee) at www.manmaderecords.co.uk. Entry on the door will be at the same price of £7.00 but we recommend that you arrive early to avoid disappointment!

For information on DOWNSET visit
www.downset.net and to check out photos that I took of them last time they came to the UK visit www.photochromatics.org.uk. MAROON have their own website at www.maroonhate.com whilst DEMEAN are featured on the HAWINO RECORDS website at www.hawino.com.

YOU'VE BEEN LIED TO play Mr Smiths this coming Friday 14th Jan with EVERSIO, RESERVED FOR NOTHING and PARISIAN SEX FLICK.

Thanks for reading!

Respect - Martin.

.: NEWS UPDATE - 4th JULY 2004 :.
Just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone that turned up to last night's farewell show - it was great to see so many old (and new) friends and you gave us a cracking send off which we'll never forget!!! Sorry to all those that we had to turn away... You should have got there earlier!!!
For anyone that hasn't yet bought a copy of the new album - 'Why Build Bridges When You Can Burn Them' - please, please do so! I don't very often blow mine or the band's own trumpet, but this album really is fucking amazing - you have to buy it!!! It's easily the best material we've ever written/recorded and the production is superb, plus a hell of a lot of my own blood, sweat and tears has gone into creating the final package - so if you don't buy it you'll never know just how good we became...
This site will remain open for a good long time, so you'll continue to be able to order copies of cd's and t-shirts as and when you want them - perfect for cheap, but exceptionally good, birthday and Xmas presents!!! Coming very soon will be the 'Memories In Richter' remix cd that we've been promising for so long - it's called 'Remichter' and features seven tracks at just £2.50 a copy - so check back soon for more details plus an mp3 to download shortly! Plans are still afoot regarding the feature-length home movie that we've also been promising - I guess I should have a bit of spare time available now, so hope to make a start on this in the very near future!
Ok, that's it for now. If you're reading this then thanks for your support, and please remember to keep checking back every now and then - alternatively drop me an email so that I can add you to the emailing list.
Massive Respect - Martin/Snub.

.: NEWS UPDATE - JUNE 2004 :.
Snub has a new arrival... Our second album - it's finished and it's a monster!!! We really are very proud of this recording and I think it's fair to say that it's our best work to date! Copies of 'Why Build Bridges When You Can Burn Them' will be pressed over the next few weeks and should be ready in time for our farewell show on Saturday 3rd July. One of the tracks is available NOW as an MP3 to download for a sneak preview - go check it out! The album will be available at the final show for a mere £5, but anyone not able to make the gig can order it for £6 incl p&p - advance orders welcome! We will continue to sell copies by mailorder via this website following the official split of the band. The lineup for the July 3rd show has now been confirmed as EVERSIO, ELIAS, SUNSHINE REPUBLIC and of course SNUB - playing for no less than a full hour! Entry will most likely be £5 on the night - there are no advance tickets. Doors will open roughly at 7pm.

That's all for now folks - thanks for tuning in!
All the best - Martin/Snub.

.: NEWS UPDATE - APRIL 2004 :.
Recording of the second album has begun and is going extremely well - it's gonna knock your socks off when it's done!!!
Also to let you know that we've just added an extra date, supporting the mighty Stampin Ground at Mr Smiths on Friday 23rd April - check the Chalk Inc website for details - whilst Sinai Beach have unfortunately had to pull out of their entire UK tour, so a replacement headline act for the Southampton Joiners show on May 26th is currently being sought.

Thanks to everyone that's posted kind words on our messageboard - it means a lot that we've affected you all in some way. Keep the messages coming!
Respect - Martin/Snub.

.: OFFICIAL STATEMENT - MARCH 2004 :.
So... After nine years we've decided finally to call it a day.

I know we've been here once before, but this time it's definitely all over!

A new band has been formed already.

The catalyst for the split is the impending departure of yet another guitarist, Martyn, who's heading off for bigger and better things via a spell at music college in Brighton. Initial thoughts of continuing the band were quickly dispelled when it became obvious that our enthusiasm for Snub just wouldn't be the same without Martyn in the lineup; an impromptu jam with a different guitarist proved highly successful but the resulting music not at all Snub-like (slower and more groove-laden) - and we realised that it was quite simply time to knock Snub on the head and move onto something else. No bad feelings, no regrets.

However, don't be downhearted...

.: NEW ALBUM :.
As a going-away present, Snub will finally be re-entering the studio in April to record the long-awaited second album! With the working title of 'Why Build Bridges When You Can Burn Them', the album will feature tracks penned by the current lineup since the band's reformation at the beginning of 2002.

.: REMIXES :.
Remix-master-extraordinaire, Mr Jon 'Frameshift' Clark has been busily working away for a while now on remixes of several tracks from our first album, 'Memories In Richter'. The results will finally be available later this year, most probably to be packaged together with the new album, and we'll be posting a few MP3 snippets for you to check out on the website shortly!

.: HOME MOVIE :.
This was promised a long time ago and as yet has never amounted to anything. However, given the fact that Snub will definitely now be finishing, we shall for certain be resurrecting this project! The aim is to produce a feature-length home movie, either on VHS format, CD-Rom or (costs permitting) perhaps even on DVD - who knows?!? The movie will feature all the best bits of Snub through the years, from when we started in '95 to our final show later this year. If anyone has any footage that they'd like to contribute then please get in touch!

.: FAREWELL SHOWS :.
Because the split is all amicable and agreed in advance, we have the good fortune of being able to timetable a few final shows! So, we'd like to see as many of you as possible to say goodbye to at the following dates:

Saturday 27th March - Aldershot West End Centre, with Jenny Rains, Fall Of Man & Malefice.

Wednesday 26th May - Southampton Joiners, with Sinai Beach (US band signed to Facedown Records) plus Ella & Abuse.

Saturday 3rd July - Bournemouth Mr Smiths, with local support t.b.c.

If anyone takes any photographs or camcorder footage of us at any of these shows, could they please let us know so that we can take your contact details! We'd actually like to have as many people as possible camcordering at these shows, particularly on the night of the last ever show in Bournemouth - and not just the show itself but any other crazy shit you feel like doing - it'll all be considered for inclusion in the final home movie!

.: MERCHANDISE :.
Our new t-shirts (check the mailorder page for details) will be sold at all shows now for just £6 instead of £10, whilst all cd's are down to a mere £2.50 each!!!
T-shirts are available via mailorder (again check the mailorder page for details) at £7 each and cd's at the same price of £2.50 - all prices include p&p.

Ok, so that's yer lot for now - please come and see us at one of the above three shows if you can, and stay tuned for more news soon!

Respect - Martin/Snub.

Gigs...Gigs...Gigs...Gigs...Gigs

We will be performing 3 more shows before we finally split in July.

The first of these is at Aldershot West End Centre on Saturday March 27th.
It'd be good to see as many friendly faces there on the night as possible - we
LOVE playing this venue, so come on down and show us what you've got!

After that we'll be playing Southampton Joiners on Wednesday 26th May,
supporting awesome US band SINAI BEACH. Again, please come on down
and show us your support - we're gonna miss the South Coast crews!

And then finally, the big one, where else but at our beloved Mr Smiths in
Bournemouth on Saturday 3rd July
. This is going to be our last EVER
show - absolutely no returns - so make sure you get yourself down to
this one and show us all those pit moves we know you've been saving!!!
